2019 Chevy Corvette C7 Grand Sport – Opti-Coat Pro – Mustang Fan Turned Corvette Lover

This is a 2019 Chevy Corvette C7. It is a Grand Sport version. It is decked out with every option available. The owner wanted to know the difference between Opti-Coat Pro and Opti-Coat Pro Plus. His thoughts were to have Opti-Coat Pro or Opti-Coat Pro Plus put on the surface of the paint and wheels.



Mustang Fan Turned 2019 Chevy Corvette C7 Lover

For my client’s entire life he has been a Mustang fan. He figured this once he would switch and see what owning a Corvette was all about. The car is in really nice shape, of course it is a 2019. This 2019 Chevy Corvette C7 is one of those rare cars that turns heads as you drive down the road. As I started talking with my client about the various services Opti-Coat offers, he stated that he has had ceramic coatings installed on his Mustangs in the past. He said it was the best decision he had made getting a coating installed on his car. After we had discussed all of the options, my client decided to go with Opti-Coat Pro on the paint. He also decided to cover the wheel facings as well.

My client bought this car in Daytona at the Chevrolet dealership. He and his wife were looking specifically for an automatic transmission. For his entire life before this, he had driven mustangs that had manual transmissions. My client was specifically looking for an automatic transmission so his wife would be able to enjoy driving this car as well. His search allowed him to find this particularly beautiful blue 2019 Chevy Corvette C7.  The pictures that I have been able to take are stunning.

Minimal Damage Assessed on this 2019 Chevy Corvette C7

The car did have some light damage on it from sitting on the car lot at the dealership, however, it wasn’t very bad. I thought it should be really nice when I’m done.

Paint Decontamination/Opti-Coat Pro Installation

I did a chemical decontamination wash first which involves removing the top layer of fall out. After that I did a mechanical decontamination. I re-washed this Corvette to remove the chemical from the previous stage. The next stage is to use a clay bar treatment to remove the final contaminates left over from the chemical decontamination. The next stage is for us to polish the paint surface for Opti-Coat Pro ceramic coating with paint correction using Hyper Polish. Finally, IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol) is used to remove all the previous waxes and oils.  This is necessary so that the Opti-Coat Pro ceramic coating will chemically bond to the paint.

Most car dealerships will want to try and sell you a coating.  Most of these coatings typically are substandard consumer grade coatings.
